About Our Surveys
Our surveys are undertaken by a RICS Chartered Surveyor, a member of the Chartered institute of building CIOB or both with a vast amount of experience dealing with Listed and historic buildings. Our 40 years of experience hails from time served trades background with academic qualifications that gives us an advantage over general surveyors that may not understand different ages or types of construction.

What is included in our historic and general surveys?
We use up to date tools and instruments to assess your building including drone or pole camera to undertake enhanced roof and chimney surveys, thermal Imaging photography and hygrometers that measure moisture levels within a building to evaluate internal conditions to provide advice and remedies for dampness and condensation.
Our reports provide expert guidance, free from caveats other than where we physically do not have access, offered in a clear and easy- to-understand format with numerous pictures and descriptions. This presents the reader with a document that can be referenced and acted upon especially when urgent repairs are required. We do offer report examples on request.
Historical Review
As part of a Listed and Historical Building Survey we will endeavour to calculate the age and development of the building that will give the client an understanding of how a building evolved, what materials have been used and how it needs to be repaired using the traditional materials where applicable.
Listed building consents, heritage statements and heritage impact assessments.
Within our team we can review planning consents and whether they have been carried out correctly and to specification. We also undertake heritage statements and area or heritage impact assessments if any potential clients are wanting to make alterations, extensions or repairs to their properties during or post purchase.

We can offer face to face appointments on-site to help you make decisions that are specific and useful to your needs. We are uniquely placed with surveyors in London and the South East of England.
All our surveyors are trained to the highest standards with degrees in Building surveying, and experience with Historic Conservation and Project Management. In addition to their skill set in Surveying all our surveyors come from a trade background, Bricklaying and stone masonry, plastering and wet trade works or Carpentry and have spent many years refurbishing, altering and rebuilding properties themselves dating from the 14th Century to properties constructed in recent years, and understand how properties were constructed and how they work. This sets Shore associates apart from other surveying practises where surveyors may only have academic knowledge. We are industry accredited through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE).
